3 main reasons why alcohol abuse is wrong

My wife has begun to drink everyday and I worried about her. I don't drink at all and I'd like her to stop drinking. We have been are for three years and it seems like it just keeps getting worse.

Can you help me explain to her the 3 main reasons why alcohol abuse is wrong? I really want to get her to agree to quit.

If you try to sit down with your wife and present three main reasons why alcohol abuse is bad, she will most likely tell you that she does not abuse alcohol.

Any reasons you give do not apply to her, because she doesn't have a problem. She drinks every day and you say it's getting worse. She doesn't agree. Her problem is developing, but she denies any problem, so it's YOUR problem.

I once worked in an intensive care unit (ICU) at a major metropolitan hospital and in that unit, over 75 percent of all cases we handled had an alcohol component to the medical situation.

Alcohol is highly toxic and can destroy vital organs if the disease is left unchecked. You want three reasons?

Her health, your marriage and the future of your family. She needs to have an assessment done. Perhaps she will agree to a physical exam, but don't count on it.

Give Al-Anon a call and let them help you, as their organization is well-suited to your circumstance.
