Alcoholism and not remembering conversations?

by Glenda

My son is an alcoholic, he drinks a lot every day. I'm trying to get him to stop but he stops for a little while and then starts drinking again.

My question is often after he has been drinking we have a discussion and then the next day he says he doesn't remember our conversation? Is this part of his drinking problem? What causes it? What stage of alcoholism is he in if he stops remembering things?

Thanks

He Needs Treatment
by: Ned Wicker

Alcoholism is progressive. As his disease progresses, he will need more and more alcohol to achieve what he thinks are the desired effects, but it's an endless cycle of misery.

The day is drawing nearer that your son will drink himself into a stupor every day, not remembering anything. Your son needs treatment and it is advisable to get a complete medical checkup.

Alcoholism is just suicide by the installment plan, so don't beg him to get treatment, force the issue.
